Poky's Story

Poky's life didn't begin the way any puppy's should.

At just two weeks old, he was found alone outside a Dollar General. Tiny, sick, and struggling, Poky desperately needed someone to give him a chance.

Thankfully, that chance came from one of the compassionate staff members at League City Animal Care. Instead of letting this fragile little puppy fight alone, they welcomed him into their home as a foster, providing around-the-clock care, love, and everything he needed to grow stronger each day.

Over the next month, Poky transformed from a vulnerable puppy into a happy, healthy little boy ready to find a family of his own.

On June 23, 2026, his foster journey came to a joyful end when he was adopted into his forever home.

Poky's story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest lives need the biggest acts of kindness. Because someone was willing to step in when he needed it most, Poky now has the chance to enjoy everything a puppy should—playing, growing, and being loved by a family of his very own.
