Boba's Story
Boba's road to finding a forever home wasn't a straight one, but every step brought her closer to the family she was meant to find.
She spent more than 100 days at League City Animal Care before being transferred to the Veterinary Institute of Houston, where shelter dogs help veterinary students learn important skills such as health assessments and animal care. It's an incredible program that gives students hands-on experience while helping shelter dogs receive extra love and attention. Many dogs are adopted through the program, but for Boba, her forever family hadn't found her just yet.
On June 22, 2026, Boba returned to League City Animal Care with the same sweet spirit that had made everyone fall in love with her from the beginning.
The shelter made the most of those next few days by sending Boba on several Dog Day Getaways and Pajama Parties, giving families the opportunity to spend time with her outside the shelter. Each outing allowed more people to see just how loving, gentle, and special she truly was.
It didn't take long.
Just six days after returning to the shelter, Boba finally found the family she had been waiting for.
On June 28, 2026, Boba was officially adopted, bringing an end to a long journey and the beginning of a beautiful new life.
Boba's story reminds us that the path to a forever home isn't always a straight line. Sometimes there are unexpected detours, but with patience, hope, and a community that never gives up, every dog has the chance to find where they truly belong.
Stella Strong is honored to celebrate Boba's happy ending and the family who gave this sweet girl the loving home she had waited so patiently to find. 💜
